Swanage Town Council Unveils Cutting-Edge New Website, Marking a 25-Year Digital Milestone

Blue Level is proud to announce the launch of a modern, new website, for Swanage Town Council. This launch holds particular significance as it comes almost exactly 25 years after Swanage Town Council pioneered digital engagement by being among the first town councils in the UK to have its own website, also designed and developed by Blue Level (under its former name Hyperion Media).

The original website, a remarkable innovation in its time, was launched in the infancy of the internet for public services. Today's new platform represents a significant leap forward, offering residents and visitors enhanced accessibility, improved user experience, and streamlined access to council services and information.

"We are incredibly excited to launch our new website, which truly brings Swanage Town Council's digital presence into the 21st century," said Martin Ayres, Swanage Town Clerk. “This new site provides a user-friendly and accessible hub for our community for years to come.”

Blue Level, the longest established digital agency in Purbeck, began its journey in 1997. Deeply rooted in the local community, the agency cemented its local presence by opening Swanage's first (and only) internet café back in 2001, located where The Narrows restaurant now stands.

Andy Mutter, Senior Web Designer at Blue Level said, "It’s a tremendous honour to have developed the new website for Swanage Town Council, especially given their pioneering history. Our team, with its long-standing connection to Purbeck, is passionate about creating digital platforms that serve communities effectively. We've applied our extensive experience, gained from working with global corporations like The Mitsubishi Corporation as well as cherished local partners such as Durlston Country Park, Swanage Pier, Bournemouth and Poole Council, and The Swanage School, to ensure this new site is both cutting-edge and deeply relevant to Swanage."

The new Swanage Town Council website features intuitive navigation, a responsive design for optimal viewing on all devices, and improved features to enhance communication between the council and its residents.
